Explorer Wide Game
We are planning on running a wide game for all the explorer scouts in the District. The wide game will probably take place at Broadstone warren scout camp (To be confirmed).
The programme is approximately as follows:
- Scouts arrive late on Saturday afternoon, and pitch their tents
- Barbeque
- Widegame
- Campfire
- Scouts to strike camp Sunday morning
Exact timings and costs to be released closer to the time.
Overland Hike Checkpoint
We have been invited to help run a checkpoint for The Overland Hike, in co-operation with the Explorer leaders within he district.
For the moment, all we would like you to do is say if you would like to help. There will also be a planning meeting closer to the event.
Of course - any details we do pass on to you - must remain top secret!
Next Planning Meeting
Venue:
Peacock Inn, Uckfield (Piltdown) (8pm)
Mountain Biking at Bedgebury
We have now finalised the plans for the Mountain Biking Day. We will be spending the day at Bedgebury Forest, which is located near Flimwell in East Sussex.
Bedgebury offers a number of trails of varying difficulty, so there should be something to suit all abilities. There is also a Mountain Bike obstacle course if you are a 'proper nutter'!
We'll meet at Bedgebury at about 11am. Expect to be out for the best part of the day, so bring some lunch with you (there is also cafe/coffee shop there if you prefer).
Walking in the Brecon beacons
The approximate plan:
Leave Uckfield/Crowborough in the Friday evening
Accomodation will be camping in lightweight tents (You will need a good sleeping bag!)
We will spend Saturday and Sunday walking
Return to Uckfield/Crowborough on Sunday evening.
We expect the cost of the camping will be approximately £5 per night. Including food and fuel costs - the cost of the whole trip will be in the region of £50.
